What's new

v8.4 [Jan 11, 2014]
This maintenance update includes support for three new synthesizer options, better Skype integration, and various bug fixes to address issues discovered in Window-Eyes 8.3. All Window-Eyes 8 customers are strongly urged to install this update.

v8.3.0 [Sep 12, 2013]
- It is now compatible with all Intel-based editions of the Windows 8.1 operating system.
- Window-Eyes 8.3 now supports Internet Explorer 11.
- Window-Eyes would sometimes crash when unselecting text in Java edit controls. This has been corrected.
- End-of-line characters were being identified as "Unicode 0." Window-Eyes now dings when moving past line boundaries as it does in other edit control types.
- The Mouse to Focus command (Insert-Numpad-Plus by default) now works if a cursor is present.
- The Unicode/Attribute hot key (Control-Numpad-Delete by default) now works when a cursor is present.
- The Highlighted Block command (Control-Shift-M by default) now works when a cursor is present.
- Read-To-End (Control-Shift-R by default) now works in controls with a cursor.
- Window-Eyes now reads as you navigate through spreadsheets in OpenOffice and LibreOffice Calc.
- Leaving and then returning to OpenOffice and LibreOffice Writer could cause extra speech every time a key was pressed. This has been fixed.
- Window-Eyes would say "edit box" when traversing multi-line edit controls in OpenOffice/LibreOffice Writer. This has been fixed.
- It would not read the rules in the rules list as you navigated it with the Arrow keys. This has been fixed.
- The conversation view in Outlook 2013 now speaks correctly.
- It is now compatible with the 64-bit edition of PowerPoint.

v7.5.4.1 [Apr 17, 2011]
GW Micro is proud to announce the release of Window-Eyes 7.5.1. This version includes improved support for the latest versions of Firefox, improvements to Internet Explorer 9 support, Office fixes, user interface improvements, Outlook and Thunderbird enhancements, and bug fixes found in Window-Eyes 7.5.

v7.2 [May 12, 2010]
Window-Eyes now fully supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Office 2010. One of the more significant features of Window-Eyes support for Office 2010 is UIA support for the Outlook 2010 message list views (such as the Inbox).
Several performance enhancements have been made. Window-Eyes 7.2 now launches much faster when using Windows Vista or greater. Navigating list views is now much faster. In addition, cases like tabbing between address fields in Outlook Express have also been sped up. Each of these speed enhancements, coupled with the dramatic speed increase provided by the Window-Eyes Eloquence Performance Patch (now fully integrated), make Window-Eyes 7.2 much more efficient than previous versions, especially under the newer operating systems.
Added Braille.DisplayMode as a read/write property. This sets or returns an item from the new BrailleDisplayMode enum (bdmStructured, bdmLine, and bdmSpeechBox), allowing you to retrieve and set the current Braille display mode.
Added bhkRotorDisplayMode, bhkLeftOneCell, and bhkRightOneCell to the BrailleHotkeyID enum. This means you can now execute these hotkeys with the ExecuteBrailleHotkey method.
The Control.Id property is now read and write. Previously it was read only.
