4Easysoft iPhone 4G Ringtone Creator for Mac is an audio editing tool. It allows you to convert video and audio files into short audio clips that can be used as ringtones on pretty much any smartphone. There is no such thing as iPhone 4G. In fact, any ringtone that you create using this app can be added to your iPhone 3G/3GS, iPhone 4 or 4S.
To create a ringtone you have to load a file into the "Input File" field, by clicking on "Browse" and pointing the app to your file. Below that file is a timeline that represents the audio track of the file you added. There you can drag those buttons that look like water drops to set the start and end time. If you want to create a ringtone for an iPhone, you might want to make the clip no longer than 40 seconds or so. At the bottom of the screen, you get to select where the file will be saved.
When I was testing this app, I first selected an MKV file, just out of curiosity; to see if the app supported the format. It crashed, so I figured it didn't support it. Then I tried it with an AVI file and an MP3 file, and both times the app crashed again.
