4Media HD Video Converter is a commercial video converter. The application can open pretty much any popular video format and convert it into tons of other formats, including H.264, MPEG-4, MOV, MPEG-2, FLV, 3GP, AVI, MKV, etc. There are quite a lot of conversion profiles, for devices that range from cell phones to gaming consoles.
To be honest, 4Media HD Video Converter looks exactly like all the other Mac converters by them that I have tried. When I saw the price tag of 49.99, I thought that this app would come with a video editor or other extra features. Sadly, that wasn't the case. Under the hood, the application is also identical to other apps in the line-up. Perhaps the only change that I can see is that this one supports a ton of formats and it has lots of conversion profiles.
Despite the fact that it is similar to other apps by 4Media, HD Video Converter works very well, and it produces great-looking videos. It has a nice preview player and a CPU-usage meter, and you can edit the profiles. The only other feature I would like to see in an app of this type is the ability to choose audio tracks and subtitles.
