4Videosoft AVC Converter for Mac is a video conversion utility that can be used to convert pretty much any video file to the MPEG-4 AVC format, also known as H.264. This format is very popular these days, and it is supported by a wide array of devices, including all of Apple's devices, many smartphones, and game consoles. H.264 is not the only output format this application supports, though. You will still be able to convert your files to other formats, like MPEG-4, DivX, XviD, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MOV, M4V, MKV, etc. The application comes with a big number of conversion profiles, which are pre-configured conversion settings, for a lot of different devices. Some of the newest devices like the iPhone 5 are already supported.
From a graphical standpoint, the application has a simple user interface. It uses a generic layout that is used in most converters these days. You will find a video player on the right, a toolbar at the top and the drop-down menu for conversion format selection at the bottom.
There is a video editor that you can use to easily trim and crop your videos and adjust their brightness, contrast and saturation.
In conclusion, this is a nice video converter, but it doesn't really have any special features for the conversion of files to H.264. It does contain a lot of profiles for that format, but some of the other converters by 4Videosoft do as well. So, basically, if you already own a converter by 4Videosoft, you probably don't need this one if the one that you have can convert files to MPEG-4 AVC.
