It can be used to convert HD formats into pretty much every modern video format, and to convert a regular video file into a high definition video. The format support in this converter is great. It supports H.264, WMV, MPEG-4, MKV, AVI, XviD, DivX, WebM, and MOV, among others. There are a ton of conversion profiles, for all kinds of devices. Of course, the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 are supported, but there are even more profiles available.
The converter features a nice graphical user interface. It is simple and intuitive. It isn't flashy, and that is why I like it.
If you want to convert files into a resolution of 1080p, you have to go to the HD Video category in the drop-down menu. If you don't choose from one of those profiles, you will be limited to 720p.
The converter works great, and it converts files very fast. I don't think there is GPU acceleration supported, and that would make this app much better.
In short, this converter works great and it has great format support. However, if you are going to buy a commercial converter, you might as well get the 4Videosoft Ultimate Video Converter for Mac, which also comes with a DVD ripper for the same price.
