Being able to permanently monitor the availability of a server is highly beneficial, even if you aren’t a webmaster or server administrator. Advanced Host Monitor is a powerful tool that will assist you with this task.

With Advanced Host Monitor you will be able to monitor the availability of any server or domain address that you desire. What’s even better is that you can do it continuously or schedule tests to occur even when you are not at the computer.

One of the things that I really like about Advanced Host Monitor is that it allows you to create multiple profiles, each with its own settings and monitored websites. This is great, as it allows multiple users to efficiently share a computer.

Another plus for this application is that it will help you use the trace route function for websites and IP addresses, in order to find out where they originate from and the hops that they go through. Furthermore, the IP Monitor that the program embeds can also come in very handy.

Although Advanced Host Monitor doesn’t have the best graphical interface that you have ever used, you can still find a lot of positive things in this area. For starters, the application can be minimized to the system tray so it won’t get in your way. Moreover, the color scheme is fully customizable, so you can easily adapt the program to your own work style.

Personally, I think that Advanced Host Monitor is an efficient program that you will surely find very useful. This feature-rich application is definitely worth its price.

v11.9 [Apr 24, 2019]
Performance improvements:
- Auditing Tool works faster.
- Telnet service decodes data faster.
- Export into text file function works faster.
- RCC uses less memory when creates SLA reports.
- With some options set "Disable tests" operation could be too slow, now it works faster.
Test improvements:
- URL test: improvements help to retrieve large web pages (or files) when you have to deal with slow network connection or busy target server (note: by default HostMonitor downloads first 96MB of the file).
- HTTP test: optimized code uses less CPU when you need to check large files (note: by default HostMonitor downloads first 96MB of the file).
- Interbase test can monitor FireBird SQL servers as well; HostMonitor can use gds32.dll and fbclient.dll client DLLs. Also Interbase/Firebird test allows using non-standard TCP port for connection.
- MySQL test can monitor MariaDB servers as well; it can use libmySQL.dll and libmariadb.dll client DLLs. Note: libmySQL.dll from MySQL Connector v8 is not supported yet; libmySQL.dll version 5.x can be used for connection to MySQL v8 but in this case you have to create a user account using mysql_native_password plugin (because default MySQL v8 caching_sha2_password authentication is not supported by MySQL 5.x).
Other:
- HostMonitor, RCC and WatchDog show warning icon (in addition to logging) when HostMonitor unable to save test list for some reason (e.g. access is denied).
