Aimersoft iTransfer is an iOS device management tool. It can be used to backup your devices, transfer content from them to your Mac and to put content on them; all of this without the need to use iTunes. If you have multiple devices connected to your Mac, you can even transfer data between them, which saves a lot of time when you want to simply transfer a music library or photos from one device to another. Even though you don't need to use iTunes, it has to be installed, because the application still accesses it for you.
On top of the basic device management functionality this app offers, you also get some nice extras. There is a DVD ripper, and a video and audio converter, which can automatically convert video files to those formats that are supported by Apple's devices.
After installing the application, you will be forced to restart your Mac. This might not sound like a big deal, but it made me waste a nice 10 minutes. It is the only "transfer" app that I have tried that required a mandatory restart.
Unfortunately, I was unable to test this application in detail because I couldn't get it to detect any of my iOS devices. I tried with an iPad 2 with iOS 5.01 and an iPhone 4 with iOS 6.0.1. With my devices connected directly to my Mac, the app didn't seem to detect them at all. All I was shown was a window that read "Please connect your device to this Mac."
