Air Mouse Server is the server-side application that powers Mobile Air Mouse, which is an iPhone application that allows you to use the phone as a wireless mouse. The mobile app talks to the Air Mouse Server to coordinate the movement of the pointer on your screen. Although most of the user interaction happens on the iPhone side, the server app holds most of the settings and has to be configured before using the iPhone client. You can configure the server to allow any iPhone to connect to it, or you can password-lock it so that you are the only one able to connect to it. From the iPhone you can search for active computers with the Air Mouse Server application installed.
As regards mouse movements, from the Air Mouse Server application, you can change the pointer speed, both horizontally and vertically. You can also set different speeds for scrolling and touch motion. To complete the package, Air Mouse Server offers a pop-up keyboard that you can use to input text to your computer from the iPhone.
In my opinion, the best feature Air Mouse has to offer is quick launch, which allows you to predefine a list of applications that you can launch on your computer from your iPhone. You set said applications from the server side application.
Air Mouse Server is freeware. However, the iPhone app costs $1.99. And without it, the server is worthless.
