Featuring a downloadable demo, AirportSim is a premium simulation title where you work as a ground handler at an airport. The developers, MS GAMES and MK STUDIOS, have partnered with numerous companies—including Airbus, Enter Air, Welcome Airport Services, and the like—and based many of the game’s airport tasks oninterviews with the ground staff to ensure authenticity.
AirportSim is integrated with Steamworks, allowing players who want to flex their creativity to design eye-catching aircraftskins and share their work with other people. If you’re not the creative type, you can instead opt to download player-designed skins.
Thanks to AirportSim’s partnerships with automobile companies, players can drive licensed vehicles—such as the Goldhofer Bison D1000 and the Hitzinger D Power—in any of the following airports: Keflavik, Key West, Warsaw Chopin, and Vagar. The physics and interior design of each vehicle arefaithfully recreated for a more immersive experience. The planes are licensed, too, so do expect to see the Airbus A320neo and 737 MAX in all their glory.
Although the game’s weathersystem is based on the METAR (Meteorological Aerodrome Report) system, you can change the weather with a click of a button. Whether you prefer to customize meteorological conditions or settle for the METAR system, you’ll have an idea of what it feels like to handle an aircraft and deal within-airport situations rain or shine—further adding a layer of realism.
Apart from the co-op mode, this title also features “Scenario,” “Challenge,” and “Free Play” modes. “Scenario” is where you perform a series of tasks to keep the airport up and running, whereas “Challenge” is for completing tasks within the time limit. If you want something more relaxing, “Free Play” is your best bet since you can do whatever you want in your airport. Unfortunately, the game isbuggy and often crashes.
Featuring a METAR-based weather system, realistic tasks, and faithfully replicated licensed aircraft and land vehicles, AirportSim strives to give players a close-to-life experience of being an airport ground handler.
