Aiseesoft Blu-ray Ripper for Mac is used to convert your Blu-ray movies into video files that you can later play on your computer or a variety of multimedia playback devices. There are two versions of this application. There is a Standard version, which I will be reviewing here, and then, there is also the "Platinum version", which is the most complete Blu-ray ripper by Aiseesoft. It comes with extra features such as an Apple device backup tool. If you are only looking at Blu-ray rippers to convert your movies into video files, then the Standard version is probably all you need.
Graphically, this ripper looks identical to Aiseesoft's DVD rippers. There is an option to load DVD movies instead of Blu-rays, too, and that is good. The GUI consists of a space where the Blu-ray files are listed, a video player on the right, a toolbar at the top, and the conversion settings at the bottom.
The output format support is great. The most popular video formats are supported. There are many conversion profiles, for devices like the iPad, iPhone, AppleTV, etc. There are quite a few 720p profiles as well.
The app features a video editor as well. It can be used to trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties.
