Aiseesoft FLV Converter Suite for Mac consists of two separate applications. The first one is DVD to FLV Converter for Mac. This is a DVD ripper that allows you to convert your DVD movies into FLV files, so that you can upload them to video sharing websites and the like. FLV is not the only format supported, though. This DVD ripper supports other formats, like MPEG-4, H.264, MKV, MOV, and many more. It can load a DVD movie from the disc itself or a folder on your hard drive. The second application is Aiseesoft FLV Converter for Mac. This video converter can deal with pretty modern video formats, and convert them into FLV and a variety of other formats.
Both applications share the same graphical user interface, with slight chances. This GUI has a nice theme and it is very simple and easy to use. It consists of a toolbar at the top, a video player on the right, and the conversion settings at the bottom of the screen. In the middle, either the files that you want to convert or your DVD titles will be listed.
In my testing, I converted both a DVD title and an MKV file to an FLV file. Both processes were smooth and the resulting file looked good. I know that it doesn't make much sense to convert an MKV file to FLV. But if the app can convert that format, it will probably not have any problems to convert more standard formats like MPEG-4, DivX, etc.
