Aiseesoft iPod Video Converter for Mac is a commercial video converter. It was designed to convert video files of various formats so that they can be played on your iPod, which doesn't have the best format support. In fact, only MPEG-4, H.264, M4V and MOV files will play on it, and on most other Apple devices (excluding Macs, of course). You will notice that this application supports all those codecs as output formats, and it even adds support for WebM and WMV. There are also conversion profiles for different types of devices. The iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone and AppleTV are all supported.
Graphically, Aiseesoft iPod Video Converter for Mac features a nice user interface. It is easy to understand and operate. It consists of a video player that lets you play your files before you convert them, a drop-down menu with all the supported formats and conversion profiles, and some instructions on how to use the application. There is a toolbar that lets you access the video editor, which can be used to trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties.
In my testing, I converted an MKV file into H.264 for iPod. The results were great. The image looked almost identical to that of the source file and there were no problems with video or audio.
