AKVIS MakeUp is a program designed for Mac users who wish to beautify their pictures by applying various visual effects. This application might come in handy to people who need to turn portrait photos into professional looking pictures with minimum effort.
The utility works with a wide variety of input formats (JPEG, CR2, RAW, NEF, DNG, MOS, etc.), provides you with a user-friendly interface, and lets you choose between two editing modes (Express and Advanced). Furthermore, it allows you to alter multiple pictures at the same time by using the same output profile.
You can choose from various output profiles or create your own by configuring Smoothing, Correction, and Effects settings according to your requirements. I like that you can compare the original photo with the end result before exporting or printing the picture.
My only concern regarding this program is the fact that it supports only 3 output formats when using the Batch Processing tool.
AKVIS MakeUp is a simple yet helpful image editor for Mac. However, you can find cheaper solutions for editing your pictures on your Mac. So it's up to you to decide whether it's worth acquiring the full version of this app or not.
