AllMyNotes allows you to store different kinds of data in an organized way. Not only that, it can protect the information with passwords. The program is quite easy to use. Moreover, it starts with a configuration wizard to create a project that matches the intended use and purpose. It allows creating tree-like structures with containers (folders), which you can label with such names as “diary”, “thoughts”, “quotes” or any other you find convenient. Luckily, they can contain not only notes but other folders as well.
Just like other similar tools, this program lets you create notes that store formatted text. In fact, it has a quite complete text editor that allows using various fonts types and colors, changing text alignment, creating tables and checking spelling. It also has the advantage of supporting the attachment of pictures and any other file type. I also find it quite convenient that the paid version lets you use time reminders for your notes. It is also great that there is a search function to help you find the desired text string.
Regarding privacy, you do not need to worry, as the program protects your data with powerful encryption algorithms. In this respect, it is excellent news that it lets you use passwords to lock all the database and even specific folders. Fortunately, the tool also comes a built-in password generator to ensure that they are powerful enough. Finally, it is good to know that its database can be backed up automatically.
In general, AllMyNotes Organizer is much more versatile than the popular sticky notes as it supports organizing your documents and keeping contact lists, tasks, and diaries. Although the current stable version does not allow synchronization, this feature is supposed to be included in future versions. Finally, you should know that the product is available in two editions. Although it can be used for free, it has some limitations that you can avoid by purchasing its Deluxe edition.
v2.4 [Apr 22, 2011]
• Added Serbian localization
• Improved automatic URL/Phones recognition, particularly better recognized URLs with punctuation in the end (commands, dots, semicolons). Also fixed recognition of some URLs that have complex path/parameters structure.
• Improved HTML parser to support characters codes specified with HTML number, for example, string "{" is used to encode an apostrophe.
• Fixed issue with exporting images and file attachments from Evernote. The issue was specific to many notes that had numerous graphics inside.
• Fixed issue with painting 8-bit images - palette colors sometimes where wrong for png and gif images.
• Fixed app behavior on deleting items to recycle bin - in some cases it was still highlighted in the recycle bin, while correct behavior would be to highlight item which was visible at once after deleted item.
• Fixed issue with Text Editor screen refresh. It was happening when tree view was in focus and window over text editor was closed - frequently old window content was remaining over text, so was needed to click on text editor - not critical, but kind of annoying.
• Some other minor improvements and fixes.
• Implemented Import from Evernote - using Evernote Export files (*.enex). Now we can import all text formatting and elements - including images, file attachments, and checkboxes.
• Improved clipboard compatibility with Evernote - now images and checkboxes are pasted correctly.
• URLs behind text (captured from the web) is correctly supported by AllMyNotes now. You can double-click to open such URL in browser, and to remove URL use Alt Shift left mouse click combination. In next version we'll provide UI for editing and creating such hyperlinks. Stay tuned.
• Improved automatic URL recognition - now it's more accurate, able to recognize more complex URLs, and with even less false-positives.
• Improved Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages support - improved word wrapping in text editors and printout, word selection by double-click, and some other things where updates to respect locale text reading rules better.
• Updated manual to include operations on Tables (create, merge/split cells, insert rows/columns, sorting), also described step-by-step manual how to export data from Evernote.
• Fixed crash when deleting big piece of text, it was happening in documents with multiple tables inside and when within selection was at least one table.
• Fixed issue with undo/redo table columns resizing - table text where repainted incorrectly sometimes.
• Fixed issue with Ctrl left shortcut key in text editor, in some case the cursor was bypassing right position.
• Fixed minor issue with edit controls content refresh after switching from other windows. Was most noticeable when switching from Folder to Note by double-clicking on Note in the Folder view.
• Rich Text Editor optimized for speed. Greatly optimized. We've carefully analyzed all pieces of code that lead to screen refresh slowness, and improved it. Number of optimizations is really big, and text editor now displays text x5-30 times faster!!! Most of all improved performance of complex and big tables, and Asian (particularly Chinese and Korean) texts.
• Extended Global Search to search in attachment names. Note: this feature works for attachments created using version 2.47, also it will work if document to which attachment is attached was edited using version 2.47 or above.
• Updates Simplified Chinese language file to include all recently added strings. Many thanks to Lkou (Lu Lin) for his effort!
• Added support of fonts others then .ttf, particularly - OFT fonts
• Added PNG images support on pasting clipboard content in RTF format - for better compatibility with third-party software, like InfoWonder.
• Improved font selection menu - now it's easier to select font which is names similarly to one which is placed in the top of the list (in the frequently used group), cause now frequently used fonts group is skipped.
• Now we are free from MFC .dlls dependency, which makes installer ~700Kb smaller, and eliminates side-by-side configuration issue specific to some systems.
• A little bit improved toolbar buttons look in "Holy Crown" skin (default one) in highlighted and pressed state.
• Fixed issue with Chinese Sougou input method - it was working for most of the cases, but sometimes disappearing when switching between windows.
• Fixed issue with Korean input IME indicator position.
• Fixed minor glitch with clicking on right part of char previous to checkbox - it was triggering the checkbox instead of placing cursor before checkbox.
• Fixed issue with too big font sizes on printout - introduced in previous version 2.46, on paper all fonts where ~30% bigger then it appeared on a screen.
• Fixed issue with incorrect Enter Activation code window size.
