Chime is a service offered by Amazon that enables users to make audio and video calls, virtual group meetings, chats, and so on. It is mainly designed for corporate users instead of common people.
You need to create a Chime account and download the corresponding program in order to access the service.
Regarding the program, it is light and easy to use. It has an attractive interface that allows you to easily access the different services. If you don't have already an account, the program will prompt you to create one by typing your e-mail address and password. Then, the program will send you a confirmation e-mail.
Although the program itself is free to download and use, you need to pay the corresponding charges every time you use the services.
The main drawback I found is that there are various similar services around, like Zoom, Jitsi, and more, as well as platforms like Microsoft's Skype and Google Meet that serve pretty much the same purposes. Thus, as a common user, I don't see the need of having yet another service like these. Maybe its main advantage is the fact that it is powered by Amazon technology. It may be a good alternative for corporate users, but for common folks like most of us, its advantages are limited.
