This tool is outdated. For a Windows utility in more active development, see the Force.com Explorer. This handy tool lets developers browse their schema, custom objects and fields, and build and test SOQL queries. At the end of the installation, a folder named salesforce.com will be created in your Start Menu "All Programs" tree. In this folder will be another folder named Apex Explorer x.0 (where x represents the version of Apex Explorer you are using) that contains the actual executable.
