Developer:

Access an assistant for quick shutdown actions for various applications in your system. Work with the options for detecting the compatible elements and initiating emergency turn-off. Optionally, send any of the underlying BSD signals to any system process.

AppKiller is a simple menu bar application that allows the user to quickly kill running applications. In addition, AppKiller allows the user to send any of the underlying BSD signals to any process on the system including those owned by other users, including root.

AppKiller is useful for killing or otherwise controlling processes without resorting to the command line or firing up heavier-weight applications such as Activity Monitor; of particular use if the system is experiencing performance issues. Any BSD signal can be assigned to either the default mouse button or the ⌥ key can be used to easily switch to an alternate signal.
