ArcRacer is an exhilarating premium racing game where you drive science fiction-inspired ships on fun racing tracks. Developed by foxel_, it is a titleheavily inspired by Studio Liverpool’s WipEout and Nintendo’s F-Zero, both of which are classic futuristic racers.

As it providestips and tutorials, this game is easy and accessible enough for beginners to get started. For veterans, though, ArcRacer is challenging enough to put their skills to the test. However, there are some features or modes that are missing in the game, like a multiplayer or infinite lap mode.

Choose a ship

ArcRacer is a beginner-friendly title, featuring atutorial mode to help you learn the ropes of the game. There is also the newbie-targeted Cyan League and the intermediate-level Amber League, each one comprising different tracks. All tracks have their own race mode, ranging from time trials to single races. Once you’ve chosen a track, you can select from five difficulty levels: novice, adept, skilled, expert, and elite.

Now it’s time to choose your ship. The ships have varying speed, thrust, handling, grip, weight, hull strength, shield strength, and shield recharge stats, so give them a try and see which one works best for you. Once you’ve selected a ship, the race will begin. The races are not only fast-paced but also immersive and gravity-defying as the tracks themselves boast sharp turns, steep descents, and chicanes.

The catchy soundtracks, though, capture the futuristic, high-octane nature of races. However, the title’s fast-paced gameplay has its drawbacks. For instance, if an AI-controlled ship collides with your ship, you’re more likely to hit the walls, slowing you down and putting you at a disadvantage. As a single-player game, it’s excellent and offers great replayability. Moreover, the addition of a multiplayer mode can promote competition and offer a higher degree of engagement.

For racers who love the single-player experience

With its fast-paced, gravity-defying gameplay, ArcRacer is a futuristic racing game that pays homage to the classic racers, namely WipEout and F-Zero. The ships have different stats and the race tracks are designed in a way that it feels like you’re driving on a roller coaster. However, this title only offers a complete single-player experience, so it’s not recommended for players who love multiplayer racing titles.
