Ashampoo Photo Optimizer allows improving your photographs. Undoubtedly, the tool’s main advantage is its ease of use. It has a straightforward interface with a folder-tree panel on the left and an editing area in the center-right.
Thus, editing a picture is as easy as finding it in the left panel and starting to apply changes. In this respect, I simply loved the way the image being edited is divided into two halves, a solution which allows comparing the original with the modified picture. And luckily, you can undo whatever changes you’ve done if it doesn’t look as you expected.
On the one hand, the most useful features of this tool are related to correcting your photos. These include adjusting brightness, contrast and color; eliminating the red-eye effect; as well as straightening, rotating, cropping and inverting the image. On the other hand, these same features can be found in many other applications, and some of them are even available from your operating system’s built-in image viewer. The list of features also include applying filters and effects, like blurring, sharpening, aging, etc. Besides, you can also add frames and watermarks.
Once your picture is ready, you can save it in its original format, but you can also use any other, including JPG, TIF, BMP and PNG (unfortunately, GIF is not supported). You can also share your photos by uploading them to Picasa and Facebook, and of course, by printing them.
All in all, Ashampoo Photo Optimizer can be the right solution for inexpert users willing to make a few touches to their photographs without making too much effort. However, if you’re looking for something more sophisticated, you must surely keep on searching.
