Autodesk DWF Writer 

Autodesk DWF Writer for 2D is a simple and handy utility that lets you convert printable documents and 2D drawings into easy to share, CAD-compatible DWF and DWFX files.

Autodesk DWF Writer works as a virtual printer that lets you convert files to DWF and DWFX by using the “printing” function from the applications used to open and view those files. You’ve probably heard of virtual printers before, but only as tools used to create PDF documents or image files. Autodesk DWF Writer is a special kind of virtual printer, as it is used to create DWF and DWFX files.

If the Autodesk Design Review application is already installed on your system, it can be used to automatically open the DWF and DWFX files, immediately after they were created by Autodesk DWF Writer.

Using Autodesk DWF Writer is easy: just open the file that you wish to convert, select the “print” function, choose the “Autodesk DWF Writer for 2D” virtual printer from the list of printers, check the “Printer Properties” to view the additional options, and press OK/Print to create the file. Then the “Save DWF File As” dialog box opens and prompts for the new file’s name. The aforementioned available options let you tweak the paper size, margins, units, orientations, and other similar parameters for the output file.

Cutting long story short, Autodesk DWF Writer for 2D is a nice, handy and effective solution to quickly create DWF files from other file formats. This great tool is also completely free, so I see no reason not to give it a try.
