AutopanoGiga is a professional tool for creating panoramas. It is currently available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. There are two versions of the app: "Pro" and "Giga". Basically, the Giga version is the most advanced one with lots of professional features and the ability to create gigapixel panoramas from several different photographies.
In layman terms, AutopanoGiga combines multiple images into one to make a panorama. The great thing about it is that it does all the work for you. From image selection to combining, the application is smart enough to save you a lot of time. For example, it will detect groups of images that are similar and that can be joined together. You can load those groups and automatically stitch them together. Once the panorama has been made, you have lots of different parameters to improve and edit it.
I have to admit that I enjoy creating panoramas. I have used this app many times to create great-looking panoramas of the places I visit. To be honest, I don't understand half of the advanced features that you get with this app. But even a beginner like me can create good-quality panoramas using this tool. More advanced users will benefit from the stitching templates, the image optimization algorithms and the working space saving features.
