Nowadays, disc burning programs have become very popular, yet just a few prove to be reliable when it comes to creating data or multimedia discs. I tested many programs of this kind and came to the conclusion that there are certain aspects that have to be taken into consideration: reliability, burning speed, available options, system requirements, etc.
AV Burning Pro is a burning program that offers a great variety of tools which help users create data backups, burn multimedia CDs or DVDs, rip music tracks, work with ISO images, etc. It comes as a robust application that won’t crash every 10 minutes, and will protect your discs by avoiding “buffer overflow” errors.
Most programs of this kind come with too many complicated and unnecessary settings that are rarely used by their users. This doesn't apply to AV Burning Pro. Its clean interface offers easy access to the integrated tools, which are categorized by type: data, music, video, and disc. In addition to common burning features, AV Burning Pro includes an ISO Creator, as well as an ISO Burner. These tools are especially useful for gamers that want to play their games directly from their computers.
A thing that surprised me in a not so pleasant manner was that AV Burning Pro required a lot of system resources (1 Gb of RAM, powerful processor, etc.). I find this quite unusual for an application of this kind.
Anyway, if you need a fast and simple solution for burning discs, AV Burning Pro will do the job efficiently, as it supports all the popular optical discs.
v3.1.1 [Dec 31, 2009]
Bridge file system (ISO9660/UDF for DVD-Video creation) mastering. AV Burning Pro creates bridge file system which is DVD-Video compatible. This media can be read with both stand-alone DVD players and ancient Windows 95 and DOS machines.
Session import (appending already created CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/HD-DVD media). In this mode you can use the same media for sequential recording daily. New data will perfectly co-exist with previously recorded data. The only limitation is the physical media capacity.
DVD-Video main sequence (movie) extraction. AV Burning Pro can re-master the DVD and extract only the movie. This allows you to include just the movie content and without the trailers and advertising from the original DVD. Unwanted video won't be copied, the main movie sequence will be extracted and stored on your hard disk or directly recorded to optical media on-the-fly.
