Better Ears is a music and hearing program designed for Mac users. With its help, you can test and improve your musical skills from the comfort of your home and without paying large amounts of money.
The application comes with a nicely-designed interface, lets you choose from a wide variety of exercises, and provides you with many useful lessons. What's more, you have the liberty to create your own exercises based on the topics you wish to practice more.
You can choose between 4 difficulty levels and switch between multiple types of musical instruments. In my testing, I tried the chord recognition exercise. The app plays certain sounds and your goal is to reproduce them by using the keyboard from the bottom side of its interface. Every time you make a mistake, the app lets you know.
To be honest, I can't find a single bad thing to say about this program. It does exactly what's being said on the homepage of the developer, works 100%, and provides you with many useful tools.
With that being said, you should definitely buy this program for your Mac if you're looking for an efficient way to practice your musical skills from the comfort of your home.
