In a distant future, a small group of human exiles are struggling to survive on the outskirts of the galaxy. Through military strength, subterfuge, and deception, the unified Terran government has managed to keep a fragile peace. With resources becoming scarce, these Confederate nations are looking towards the prosperous worlds of their alien neighbors, the mysterious Protoss. To make matters worse, an unknown and dangerous species called the Zerg have ventured into Protoss space and are causing destruction everywhere they go. War is inevitable.
