Boingo Wi-Finder provides you with a quick and simple way to find commercial-free hotspots. This Mac program might prove to be of good use whenever you take a trip to another country and need to immediately locate a Wi-Fi connection to send an email, find tourist attractions, etc.
The utility lives on your Menu Bar from where you can alter its settings and check the FAQ section. In order to use this application on your Mac you need to create a personal account on the homepage of the developer. Afterwards, you can login within the app's main window using the entered credentials and start connecting to commercial-free hotspots.
An advantage is that the program lets you know when it finds new Wi-Fi connections.
My only problem with this Mac application is the fact that I need to use my default browser in order to change Wi-Fi connections. It would be great if the developers would add a built-in map to immediately locate and change hotspots.
All in all, this program is free of charge and works perfectly. So, I'd say it's worth giving it a try on your computer, especially if you plan on making a trip to another city or country and you're taking your Mac with you.
