BookMacster is a Mac program designed to help you keep track of your bookmarks. This type of utilities proves to be of good use to people who work with multiple web browsers and wish to easily manage their favorite URLs from one place.
The tool is compatible with various web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Vivaldi, Chromium, and many others. You can import your bookmarks from any of the aforementioned tools, sync bookmarks between multiple web browsers, find duplicated URLs, etc.
Another advantage is that you can export the stored content to other bookmark managers, individual files or web browsers.
Furthermore, BookMacster is capable of validating your bookmarks. To be more exact, the program can check if the URLs are error-free and secure.
In my testing, the utility occasionally displayed errors, especially whenever I switched from another program to BookMacster's interface. It didn't happen often though and it might be my Mac's fault. Another thing you need to know is that you can find cheaper bookmark managers for Mac. However, they might not provide you with as many advantages as BookMacster does.
v1.1 [Feb 24, 2012]
- Fixed a bug which could cause items in Safari Reading List to not be exported properly to Safari 6.x.
- Fixed a bug which caused a New Bookmarkshelf to be created without a Reading/Unsorted hard folder if the Safari minor version number was 0, such as, eeek, Safari 6.0.
- Now properly imports and exports tags containing space characters with Delicious. The tag delimiter for Delicious has recently changed from the space character to the comma. Our thanks to the un-named Delicious engineer who was sick and out of the office yesterday, but fixed the resulting break in the Delicious API from his home after we reported that it was not behaving as required by this change!
- Fixed a bug which caused a long entry to sometimes be written to the console log after a Bookmarkshelf document was deleted by clicking in the menu File ▸ Close and Delete.
