Booksmart can help you create books. Despite the complication involved in such a complex type of editing, this application can help you go through the whole process without investing so much time and effort. Fortunately, it is properly documented with tips and tutorials. Besides, a wizard takes you through all the steps necessary to make your book meet your exact needs.
The program allows you to pick one from various book types, including a standard portrait, small portrait, standard landscape, small landscape, large square, trade, pocket, weekly planner, and notebook. Similarly, you can choose from various layouts. Photos can be conveniently imported not only from local folders but also from cloud services as Flickr, Photobucket, Picasa web album, and SmugMug. After going through these initial steps, you can start customizing the book´s appearance. For example, you can change the theme, style and background color. Moreover, you can insert a table of contents, text and titles. You can also position and rotate the photos.
The application supports sharing your books by saving them as projects or printing them. In a similar manner, it can import books from previous versions of the program. However, it cannot import projects from other similar programs.
In general, Booksmart is a nice and easy-to-use application. Unfortunately, it is limited in terms of supported formats, probably because it is a part of a paid book-printing service.
