Broken X Disk Manager is a disk manager and catalog creator for Windows file systems. It presents the file structure of a local drive or CD/DVD. It also generates description of MP3, OGG and WMA, which makes it also a great tool for cataloging and organizing music.
The content of the disk or folder structure is stored in an integrated database which can be backed up in network storage, so there is no need for MS Framework or other 3rd party software to work.
The interface resembles one of Windows Explorer; it presents a folder structure on the right panel; on the left it displays the files and catalogs classification given by the users. At the top there are icons that perform directly actions, such as adding, removing and search function.
Search function has been improved. Now users can look for a file and it will be found with no regard to the fact whether the disk is present or not. But if you want to get access to the file, it will ask to insert the disk or CD.
Broken X Disk Manager supports compressed files like7-ZIP, ACE, CAB, JAR, RAR, TAR and ZIP. It is capable of reading the directory structure and search ing it.
In this version the user interface was modernized with new icons and graphics. There is now also a x64 bit edition available for registered users. The database encoding has been changed to decrease file size for most databases. Supports TIFF, PCX and Photoshop files.
Other new features added allow users to read the contents of ISO and NRG files, to create thumbnails for EXE files, extract information and thumbnails from video files; and there are over 20 more improvements, enhancements and bug corrections in this version.
It is important to note that the Demo is not restricted. Its only limitation is that it can catalog only 10 disks per database, but it is fully functional.
