Bros MKV Converter for Mac 1.7.12

Bros MKV Converter for Mac is a video conversion tool. It was designed to let you convert your MKV files into other formats, including MPG, MPEG-4, H.264, AVI, FLV, ASF, MOV, and DivX. The app can also be used to convert other video files into the MKV format. There are conversion profiles for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and AppleTV and for other non-Apple devices like the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Android phones and tablets.

The application comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties like brightness, contrast and saturation.

The graphical user interface looks good, but there were instances where it felt unresponsive. This was more apparent when a file was loaded. The video editor struggled to play MKV files at full speed.

I tried converting an MKV file that I always use to test video converters and this application had a few problems with it. The first one was with the estimated output size. Even after I trimmed the video to a 1-minute clip, the estimated size was around 4 gigabytes, which is too much for a mere minute of video. Then, when I attempted to convert the video, the application would not do a thing. The status would change to OK (check mark) and my file would not be converted. Then I tried to start converting the file without trimming it, and the app started converting it. So, maybe the problem was the video editor.

When the app started converting the file, my Mac became so slow I couldn't even switch applications, and the estimated conversion time for a file that was 1 hour and 30 minutes long was 5 hours. I know for a fact that other converters can process files in less than half that time on this same Mac.
