BSPlayer 2.59.1059

Free Plays media files on the PC

Developer:

BSPlayer supports playing not only standard media files, but also streaming contents. This application has the advantage of requiring very few hardware resources. As to its appearance, the program has the typical interface of a media player, which makes it very easy to use. Unfortunately, however, it looks rather old-fashioned, regardless of the fact that there are various skins to choose from. It’s also a pity that its various windows lack visual unity and appear to look like parts of different programs.

This player supports practically all popular media formats. It can also play online video as well as audio from Internet radio stations. What’s more, you can use it to save streaming media to disk. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to support any video-sharing site other than YouTube. Another major asset of this player is video subtitling, as it does not only support multiple formats but also searches various Internet databases to automatically download missing subtitles. Unluckily, although the program allows you to configure font, size and color, there’s no way to change the timing if you need to synchronize text with audio. Finally, BSPlayer is highly customizable as it supports tons of filters and plugins.

As the bottom line, I don’t think BSPlayer is as extraordinary as its developers claim. I won’t deny such advantages as being very light and highly internationalized; however, it probably needs a redesign to make it more visually appealing.
