Call of Duty 2 is a classic first-person shooter game. It is the inspiration behind modern shooters like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Black Ops. Of course, there is no place for comparisons between Call of Duty 2 and the more modern games. But Call of Duty still manages to be playable and entertaining, especially for those of us who are FPS fans. You can download the Demo and purchase the game from the developer's website.
The demo lets you play a single-player mission. In it, you are deployed to Egypt, in 1942. After a short ride on a Jeep, you arrive at the enemy's location and start a gun fight. The first objective is to take down some MGs that are very well-manned, so you have to flank their position and take them out that way. The mission is probably ten-minutes long if you play it really fast and on average difficulty. But it can take longer if you need to take your time to gain ground on the enemy the hard way.
All in all, this demo gives you a great taste of what the game is all about. I love seeing all the little elements that modern games now have and to see how the franchise has evolved. The game runs great on my Macbook Pro.
