Turn PDFs into text-based files. Convert the regular documents and scanned PDF images into files compatible with MS Word, Excel, Pages, regular text readers and word processors, etc. Alternatively, create images in JPG and other common formats. The program supports batch conversion.

Cisdem PDFConverterOCR for Mac offers a convenient solution to convert both text-based and scanned PDF files into editable documents and into images. The array of supported formats is comprehensive, including all popular document and image file types.

Once you open the application, a completely white-colored board is displayed, as if something is wrong with the program. To overcome this false impression, you just need to drag and drop onto this window the PDF file you intend to convert. A moment later, a clear-cut and intuitive interface appears on the screen, displaying the pages of the PDF file as thumbnails on the right side of the window and the output formats you can convert into on the left side. The middle section will show you a preview of the selected page at a large scale. What is great about this tool is that it detects areas automatically based on text input, images, and tables, and offers to mark the patches with different colors, so that you can figure out the nature of the PDF content easily. Obviously, you have the ability to make paragraph selections by yourself, since the application provides you with specific tools for manual selection. The zooming function is of great help, so that you can read the PDF content properly and make accurate selections.

Not only the source file supports previewing, but the extracted content also – namely, you have the chance to see in a new window how the output document will look like before actually enabling the conversion. You will also appreciate the ability to save your project at an intermediary stage of content extraction – this feature is very useful when dealing with large PDF files. You can resume the process later, without losing any of the work already performed.

With smart selection options and a comprehensive choice of output formats, Cisdem PDFConverterOCR is a handy tool for saving PDFs as editable documents or as image files. The OCR function is outstanding, supporting a large number of more-or-less popular languages. However, the tool lacks the ability to convert selected pages and it doesn’t allow you to process multiple files at once.
