Clean Disk Security is intended to protect your privacy by securely erasing sensitive data from your hard drives or external storage devices. The application has an intuitive interface, but I have to say that it may seem too crowded with options. It would be better if it had a default configuration, which is safer for inexpert users.

This tool can clean various PC areas, where information compromising your security is usually stored. It can clean free space as well as file slack space. It can also wipe your recent files list, temp folders and history records. Likewise, it can empty your Recycle Bin, clean your browsers’ cache and erase Internet cookies. Moreover, it can process plugins and clear your Windows clipboard.

The program supports various wiping methods that range from quicker methods to more secure (and necessarily slower) ones. In this regard, it supports setting a given number of passes or using well-known algorithms as NIS and Gutmann. Other options allow you to exclude given cookies or process chosen plugins. The app also lets you edit plugins or create new ones. Besides, you can use it to view disk contents in various ways, such as hexadecimal, ASCII and decimal codes.
