ClipPhoto enables you to crop your favorite pictures at any size you like with just a few clicks. This utility comes as an alternative to using the default Mac image viewer (Preview) to resize your photos.
The program features a straightforward interface, works with a wide variety of image formats, supports batch processing and drag-and-drop actions, and immediately offers you the quality results you need. ClipPhoto shows you the length and height of the input files and lets you enter the preferred output dimensions.
What's more, you can create multiple cropping profiles in the Output Size panel and save them for later. This feature comes in handy if you wish to re-use certain output profiles for another set of pictures.
Even though this application works like a charm and offers me quality results, I still don't think it's worth installing it on your computer. Mac default image viewer provides you with all the settings you could possibly require when cropping pictures.
Furthermore, ClipPhoto supports a small amount of output formats (JPEG, JPEG2000, PNG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF). This aspect might annoy some Mac users. For example, I imported a PSD file and I needed the result to be saved in the same format.
With that being said, ClipPhoto is efficient and free. But I'd suggest you to use Preview for cropping pictures to avoid installing the aforementioned third-party app on your Mac for no special reason.
