HDV and AVCHD formats are used actively for recording High Definition content. Their corresponding extensions, M2T, MTS and M2TS do have the drawback of not being able to play on Mac. With ClipWrap however you can easily re-wrap these files and play them as MOV videos.
The application has a robust and intuitive interface, which makes it quite straightforward to use; it features a choice of two conversion methods, one that re-wraps (no encoding and no quality loss) and one that transcodes (automatic conversion based on input format).
All you need to do is add your M2T, MTS or M2TS files, select output format (Apple Intermediate Codec, Apple ProRes, DVCProHD, DV, HDV, Avid DNxHD and Sony XDCAM), frame rate (24 to 60 fps) and press the "Convert" button.
The program's Preferences panel allows users to preserve source file creation time, allow frame rate adjustment and automatically open converted files in a video player. Audio file may be converted to LPCM in either stereo Downmix or multichannel output.
Briefly, ClipWrap is an efficient piece of software that will help you easily play M2T and MTS formats while preserving the video quality.
