coconutID is a Mac application built to help you identify when and where your computer was manufactured. This program also provides you with information regarding the iOS devices, such as iPhones, that were connected to your Mac.

The utility comes with a user-friendly interface that contains 3 main windows: "This Mac", "iPods/iPhones/iPads", and "Custom". On the first screen you will find information about your computer, such as the model name, the installed OS X version, and the interval of time and location where your Mac was built. In my case, the offered details were accurate.

However, I can't say the same thing about the information coconutID managed to provide regarding the connected iOS devices. The application revealed the date when my iOS device (iPhone) was connected to my Mac and the interval of time when the gadget was manufactured. Unfortunately, it didn't show any info about the location where the iOS device was built.

Furthermore, the program failed to provide any info when I entered the serial number of my iOS device in the "Custom" window.

Hence, this utility doesn't work 100%. For this reason, I don't think it's worth installing this program on your Mac.
