Coffee Buzz is intended to keep your Mac awake by disabling its screen saver and other energy-saving options. Of course, you may argue that you can do that by modifying the energy settings. In this regard, the real advantage if using Coffee Buzz is that it lets you do that straight from the Status Bar, without needing to navigate through several windows and options.

As said, it is very convenient that Coffee Buzz is readily available from the Status Bar. Moreover, it has an extremely straightforward interface, so much so, that no help should be necessary to use the tool right from the box.

The application lets you pick one from three different modes. So, you can choose Buzz mode to block any type of energy-saving options, such as dimming or turning the screen off. The Doze mode, in turn, does not interfere with your screen automatically going to sleep but keeps all Mac processes active in the background. Finally, in Off mode, all sleep effects are disabled.

There are a few convenient settings you may want to explore as well. In this respect, there is a timer, including several presets. More than just that, it is possible to create your own rules, which can regulate what to do in various events, such as startup, connecting to power and low-battery warning.

All in all, there are many occasions when you may feel the need to have an application like Coffee Buzz installed on your machine. In this sense, it can be highly appreciated by lecturers. Good to know this product is available from the Mac Store at no cost.
