Collagerator is a nice and simple collage-making tool that anybody can use to create attractive photo collages in just a few seconds. The program is not a professional tool loaded with hundreds of templates and complicated features, but not all users need such functionality. This is a program for the average home user who simply wishes to share their photo collection with friends and relatives in a more artistic and original way.

Collagerator offers you just five simple templates – actually, they are four, but one of them (the Photo Drop template) comes in two flavors, either with a white or a black background. The other three are Mosaic, Black Border, and No Turns. Each of them allows you to display an arbitrary number of images according to the layout assigned to each template. Mind you, these templates are not closed layouts – you are free to move your pictures backwards and forwards, up and down, left or right, until you are pleased with how the photographs are arranged within the limits of the selected template. This means that not all parameters can be changed in all templates – except when using the Photo Drop template (the one that allows for more creativity), the sizes of the images cannot be changed at will, and so if you move a picture to a bigger or a smaller frame within the composition, the image will be resized accordingly.

All templates allow for a number of changes, such as the possibility of adding frames, shadows, a different background to your pictures. The position of the photos in the collage can also be randomized, or arranged manually in whatever way you like best. Finally, you can save the collage for further retouching and editing, and export your work of art as a PNG, TIFF, JPEG, or a BMP image, among other formats.
