Commander One is intended to overcome some of the drawbacks of Finder. Probably the main advantage of this tool is that it has two panes, so you can open two different locations simultaneously. Besides, this type of layout favors such operations as comparing, synchronizing, copying and moving files and folders. It is also good that it supports not only local directories but also FTP, network and cloud locations.
As said above, the main feature of this tool’s interface is the availability of two panes, but to make it even more convenient, it is possible to open more locations if you use various tabs. Besides, there are buttons you can use to perform quick operations, and if you prefer so, you can also use their keyboard alternatives.
The application can seamlessly manage cloud storage account, including those as popular as Dropbox and Google Drive. Moreover, it can easily connect to FTP servers to support exploring and transferring their contents. The same is true for any type of removable device mounted as drives on your system. In all cases, you will not even notice you are working with a remote or external location instead of a local one, provided you have enough bandwidth.
Something about this file manager that cannot be taken for granted is its powerful search tool, which lets you find the desired files not only by their names but also by looking into their contents. Even better, there is a feature called Spotlight search that provides additional ways to search for the desired elements.
Commander One is a very versatile tool that integrates many useful features. For instance, it can compress or decompress files without the need of an external archiver. Moreover, it allows previewing a long list of file types.
All things considered, Commander One is a great alternative for the file manager built in MacOS. It certainly makes it easier to perform various common operations involving files and folders. Luckily, this product can be used at no cost for an unlimited period of time. However, if you want to access all its features, you will need to upgrade it to its paid version.
