Converseen was supposed to be a free, open-source, clean, and honest utility that allows batch processing of multiple image files at the same time, in an easy, fast, and convenient manner. Well, maybe the last part is still true, but the first part, the “free, open-source, clean, and honest” one, was surely a different manner. After I installed this tool, I had to spend a good half an hour getting rid of the adware and the mess it made on my computer. I’ve seen adware-supported tools, but those were just trying to install all kinds of unnecessary software onto your computer, not force you into doing it. When I declined the adware part, the installation of Converseen stopped as well, so my only two left choices were to skip installing Converseen altogether or to accept the installation of that adware (“istartsurf” is its name) onto my computer. If only I knew how sorry would I be for choosing the second option: that adware changed my browsers’ default engine, start page, and so on. Only when it was already too late, I realized that by downloading and installing Converseen’s portable version, this issue (the adware) could have been avoided.

The licensing system of Converseen mentioned that the “ad-supported” status could’ve been removed for a donation of at least one dollar, but that’s hardly plausible or important anymore, considering I had to deal with aggressive adware and not just innocent ad-supported installations.

Anyway, Converseen is a really nice tool, too bad its installer also brings such trouble. Converseen comes with a neat and intuitive interface that even beginners can use with ease. It allows resizing, rotating, flipping, and converting multiple images at once in a fast and comfortable way. Another remarkable advantage is the support for more than 100 different image formats. Even PDF documents can be easily converted to image files using this tool.

To sum it all up, if you want Converseen to be the powerful and easy-to-use batch image processing tool that you were looking to get for free and for no other cost or trouble involved, make sure you download its portable version.
