Craftsman 4 is a free adventure game from Slbzer, letting you play as the titular character. Set in an oddly familiar voxel world, this crafting game allows you to collect materials across its open world and create different buildings andmechanisms.

Its graphics, sound effects, and a lot of game mechanics make Craftsman 4 a good alternative for Minecraft or Roblox to some extent. However, as far as mobile versions are concerned, Craftsman boasts a slightly better visual, thanks to its more detailed textures. On the contrary, its crafting repertoire doesn’t cover as much material as its more popular contemporaries.

An endless creation game

Like Minecraft, Craftsman 4 also features open-world gameplay centered on a randomly generated seed world. You are then free to do what you want, whether it’s playing around with the game mechanics or completing the overarching story. The main problem with this game, however, is that it lacks originality. Even one of the final bosses has the same name, with a slightly different design: the Ender Dragon.

With that said, this game also comes up short in terms of mechanics. Most of the basic combinations of blocks are the same as in the Mojang Studios title. However, the sheer selection of Minecraft is just not available here. It makes this range virtually negligible for casual players but can be adealbreaker for more experienced players who use the rarer blocks.

As mentioned, graphics is an advantage of this entry over the Mojang one. Its blocks contain slightly better textures. Also, moving around feels smoother and more fluid. In terms of difficulty, it’s a lot more relaxing to play on mobile. The mobs spawn less frequently and are generally easier to beat. In fact, its game options are more accessible, perfect for people who just want to build without resistance.

A fair Minecraft alternative

If you’ve played other voxel art games, particularly Minecraft, then it’s easy to dismiss Craftsman 4 as one of the countless knockoffs. However, it stands above the rest in terms of closely resembling the original sandbox, with a visible improvement in the visual quality. However, like most games inspired by the original, it comes up short in a number of aspects—mostly relating to the gameplay.
