Optimize the work of standard Mac devices, servers, and workstations requiring the execution of certain tasks during periods of user absence. Select automation parameters for individual or multiple operations and schedule regular launches and types of execution.
Cronette is a very simple and effective system automation tool. It allows you to schedule a few different tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. You can add as many tasks as you want to your list of scheduled events. And you can set each task to repeat up to 10 times each day.
To add a task, you simply need to click on the "+" button in the Edit Task tab. You can then name your task and provide a note. By default, tasks are set to repeat themselves daily. There are four different tasks available: open URL, launch disk file, execute action and do Unix command. If you have a vivid imagination, and some knowledge of how to use Apple scripts, the possibilities are endless. The execute action option lets you restart, shut down or sleep your Mac.
In my testing, I simply added an Open URL task and an execute action right after it. I scheduled both of them one minute apart and I sat back and admired how the application carried them out for me.
All in all, the application is quite good. The only thing I would add is a menubar icon so that I could close the application window.
