Cu3ox is a free application for creating 3D Flash photo galleries. The program is quite easy to use, which is a great advantage as sometimes creating beautiful Flash effects for a blog or a webpage can be tricky - if not impossible - unless you have some programming knowledge. Fortunately, you need no programming skills when using cu3ox, as you will be able to publish your 3D Flash gallery in just three steps.

The first step it to add the desired images. This is easily achieved, given that the interface is quite simple and understandable, and it allows you to drag and drop images and whole picture folders in it, or browse your hard disk for content. The second step is to edit the image title (if needed), to add descriptions, and to set the gallery properties. (To do this, a couple of boxes appear at the bottom of the screen every time you have an image selected.) If you want to further edit the gallery settings, you can do it from the toolbar. Finally, you only have to publish it. Cu3ox gives you three options: save it to a folder in your hard drive, send it to an FTP server, or insert it directly into your HTML page. After clicking on "Publish", it will open your browser to show you the results.

Occasionally, when I was testing the galleries, some problems occurred regarding the transition effect - it would freeze. It is yet unknown whether it was due to some bug in cu3ox's or in the browser. However, cu3ox is definitely a highly recommended tool - its easiness of use, the fact that no programming skills are required, and the beautiful results make this software utility simply great. It is free to use for non-commercial purposes. For other purposes, a commercial edition is available for a small fee.
