CustomShortcuts is intended for customizing shortcuts for your operating system and applications. The tool is unobtrusive, it will not bother you while it runs from the Menu Bar. Moreover, it can be set to start automatically with the system. I am sure you will have no difficulty using it; still, it would have been nice to have some kind of actual help documentation.

Its interface is quite straightforward and minimalistic. It comes with various prebuilt tabs, including All Applications, Custom Shortcuts, Finder and System Preferences. Moreover, you can create additional tabs for other applications. To configure a new shortcut, you first need to switch to the intended tab, then use the + button to create a new entry. Operations and their corresponding shortcuts are easily linked. In this respect, you just need to press the Record Shortcut button and type the desired key combination. It is also good that there is an autocompletion feature to help you navigate through menu hierarchies. This way, you can make sure there is no ambiguity. Unfortunately, there is no built-in way to list all currently implemented shortcuts.

In short, CustomShortcuts is a great way to personalize menu hotkey combinations, which helps you access practically any operations without lifting your fingers from the keyboard. The product is downloadable at no cost from the developer’s website. My suggestion: if you easily forget key combinations, you should also download CheatSheet by the same developer, a tool that lists all active shortcuts of the current application and helps you avoid one of CustomShortcuts’s limitations.
