DashOffOn is an automation application that enables users to turn the Dashboard on and off. It is a part of the Dock application and the Dashboard.app (in the Applications folder) shows the Dashboard instead of launching or quitting it. When Dashboard is hidden, the open widgets still work but will not use up memory or CPU resources. To free up space, users can temporarily turn Dashboard off by double-clicking on the TurnOffWidgets application. The TurnOnWidgets application can be used to turn Dashboard back on.
