Desktop Poet is an application that fills your screen with random words. It is like those magnets you put in your fridge to trigger your creativity. The words are really small and the font color is black on a white background. You can drag them around with the left button of your mouse. There are different types of words: nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives. In the case of verbs, you can change their form by right-clicking on them and selecting the word you want.
Desktop Poet comes with random words, but you can download other word lists, which are even sorted into categories or you can add your own words. When you are done shuffling them and you have your final sentence, paragraph or poem, you can export it in various formats. From the menus, you can also re-shuffle the words, add or duplicate words, and change formatting.
There is an interesting feature that allows you to find any words containing a string of text. It works like the Find feature of your web browser. When words are found, they are highlighted and you can drag them all to together.
