If you’re one of those many people that get quickly bored of their desktop wallpaper, no matter how interesting the currently displayed picture is, then you will probably like this handy little tool quite a lot. DesktopSlides is a small and simple application that can automatically change the desktop background at pre-defined time intervals, from various online and local sources. The fact that it can pick the wallpapers from both your local files as well as online sources is a nice advantage of this tool. The fact that the minimum time interval for changing the wallpaper that the users can set is one hour is less of an advantages, as one hour is quite a lot for me and I would have preferred to be able to select smaller time intervals as well. Anyway, there are buttons that allow you to manually switch the wallpaper, letting you choose a new background or re-apply a previously displayed one, so you won’t have to worry that you’ll get stuck with one that you don’t like. It also lets you set the wallpaper position (tile, center, fit to screen).
Using this neat tool is very easy, as it comes with a simple and intuitive interface. It can also be easily operated from a system tray menu.
To sum it all up, DesktopSlides is a nice tool that offers a really convenient way of having your desktop wallpaper automatically changed at predefined time intervals. Best of all, it’s free.
