Introduction

Detention Club is a traditional turn based RPG that relies heavily on visual novel elements to play out the story. You wake up in a seemingly abandoned college building with no recollection of your past.

To your horror you soon find yourself trapped here where all students and even the teachers seem hell bent on making your life a living nightmare with seemingly no reason.

There is no exploration and the story must be observed through questioning your enemies in the heat of battle and calling what few friends you make from the solace of a safe hiding place in between fights.

You start the game under powered and must build up your skills and repertoire of moves to at first just survive against the myriad of vicious and aggressive predominantly female foes you encounter throughout the school.

Characters

Nomak

The hero of the story remains largely an enigma due to his recent and trauma induced memory loss. He relearns his strength and fortitude, both physically and mentally through surviving the nightmarish ordeals within the 'school' and ultimately becomes a more resolute person for it.

Nomak seems to have the useful knack of gaining trust and respect of most of those with whom he has crossed paths.

Jesca

Usually found working out in the gym, Jesca is the first person our hero meets when he wakes up on the cold floor in the school. She is a strong and energetic person who detests weakness above all.

Although initially aggressive towards our hero, she becomes hisally and an almost sibling type dynamic develops between the two asshe watches his back from afar and follows with curious intrigue.

Ratgirl

This curious girl imposed the name Ratgirl upon herself when she woke up from a seemingly intense traumatic event surrounded by rats where she was unable to recall her true name.

The small and scared young woman had no choice but to resort to a life of thievery in order to survive and became prolific in this feat as her mountain of hoard increased. She now runs her own black market store.

Jack

Jack the 'Cracker' Cockran is the leader of a newly formed group of predominantly male students who banded together to try and help those in need.

Although his hairbrained schemes are usually ill thought out, Jack's heart is always in the right place and he proves to be trustworthy as a man of his word.

Claire

Gentle and kind-hearted, Claire is somewhat of a paradox to the status quo of the school.

Contrary to her tender and caring nature, she also possess great physical strength which, unlike most others, she utilises to protect those unable to fend for themselves rather than to dominate and impose any sense of superiority.
