DiDi-Rider is a free navigation mobile app that allows you to commute with ease. Developed by DiDi Global, this travel app offers GPS location tracking and an interactive map that lets you hail a ride with this service’s driver-partners—allowing for faster transportation wherein you can choose exactly where to be dropped off.

Similar to Uber, DiDi-Rider features hassle-free requesting of trips with its easy-to-use interface. You also have access to a variety of payment options. However, this app’s overall performance leaves much to be desired and its customer support doesn’t help in that regard either.

What is DiDi-Rider?

DiDi-Rider is an app-based vehicle-for-hire transportation service that’s great for easy commutes. It doesn’t just offer this type of ride, though—you can also request trips for delivery. As a ridesharing service, its mobile app allows you to choose from different types of rides depending on your budget and requirements. You can order rides for up to 6 people and their luggage or even just carpool to split the cost.

Take note that this service is only available in Australia, Japan, some parts of Latin America, and China. In particular, you have to use distinct apps for some countries: 99 for Brazil and DiDi-Greater China for China and Hong Kong. For this app, however, simply turn on your GPS location tracking to start using it in your supported region. You need to create an account in order to use the service.

To request a trip, just select your pick-up and drop-off locations on the map. You can check the driver’s information that you get. After your trip, simply pay via your preferred payment method. The app also offers Trusted Contacts, Emergency Button, and Safety Toolkit features for your ease of mind. However, the app’s performance is hardly satisfactory. Often, it will also charge you for drivers canceling your request.

Needs a major overhaul

All in all, while DiDi-Rider aims to make it easier for commuters to travel, the app doesn’t actually lighten the load. The interface isn’t too complicated but the app’s performance is often too unstable to properly set a trip request. One common issue is you getting canceled frequently and getting charged for it, as well. You’re better off trying other ridesharing services.
