Disk Space is simple application that offers space-related information about your various disk drives and storage media, including hard drives, external drives, memory cards, network drives, DVDs, CDs, and USB flash drives. In addition, it scans the home directory of your Mac in order to reveal the sizes of the folders it contains.
The program opens with a simple and clear-cut interface that lets you switch easily between the disk drives module and the home folders module. No matter what module you select, the information regarding the used space and the free space of identified drives and, respectively, of the folders within the home directory, is conveniently displayed using clear and suggestive graphs. If the display of identified drives includes external storage media you are not interested in, you can eject them from within the program with the click of a button. Finding out which folders take most space within your home directory is an easy task to perform. For a better view, the existing folders can be sorted by name and size. Besides retrieving size information on each main folder, you can drill down to subfolders for detailed size reports.
In conclusion, the tool is designed to help you monitor the hard disk of your computer and any removable drives so that you can see at a glance which drives are running out of space and need to be freed up of useless files and folders.
